The Spirits of Bulbs
In a short essay, E.F. Marsak desribes his poor treatment of a lover, and his problems with online dating

The screen is black for the majority of the film, only illuminated by a scene from Akira Kurosawa’s 1990 film ‘Dreams’, and photographs from Stephanie Schneider’s 2006 publication ‘Stranger than Paradise’

A deep rumbling sound is heard throughout the film beneath Marsak's vocals, interrupted by the sound of distant bells and audio from an unidentified source

My Dog the Rabbit Killer
E.F. Marsak's first expressionist essay film comprised of 4 essays, or chapters.

In the first chapter of the film "Thee Dog", E.F. Marsak tells the story of his mother finding their dog one morning by their mailbox. When the dog runs away from home, Marsak has inspiring conversations with the dog.

In the second chapter "Walking My Dog at Night", Marsak sees another inspiring free animal, a stray cat underneath a streetlight and meditates on his future.

In the third chapter of the film "Dog Fighting", Marsak speaks about gaining freedom through his art

In the fourth chapter of the film "Hollow Barks", Marsak speaks about what life really is like as a 'dog'.

Half of the screen contains the written words and the other half displays photographs from John Divola's 2004 publication "Dogs Chasing My Car in the Desert".

The score is described as "haunting, mesmerizing" by one viewer. Marsak's delivery is more rhythmic for this film.
